Your doctor will be able to discuss appropriate options if you wish before organising an STI test. The GP consultation fee is payable when you book the appointment online. Any tests that you require will be chargeable on top during your consultation with the doctor. If organised through a telephone consultation, patients will be sent a form to print out and take to the laboratory walk-in centre themselves (£15 phlebotomy fee applies for blood tests). Many tests can be carried out from a simple urine sample. Checking for syphilis and HIV requires a blood test. If caught early (when there are often no symptoms) many infections can be treated with a simple course of antibiotics which our doctors can prescribe. All records are maintained securely and in the upmost confidence. We will never share your details with your NHS GP or any third party without your express permission. Important: for men, most STI tests can only be carried out if you have not passed urine in the last hour.
